Project Skateboard
A client purchased a machine from Matcam OZ and needed a way to machine timber skateboards. We drew the 3d drawing by making a grid 20mm by 20mm and finding the z value for that point. Once the skateboard was drawn a sample cut of each face was done. The client approved the sample faces and we begun the process of creating a manufacturing procedure. We started by doing the top face with the plank of wood screwed down on the four corners. A negative of the top face was machined into a piece of ply. This allowed for the top face to be aligned. The product was secured with screws in the same position where the wheels would later be mounted, as the entire rear face had to be machined.
